Key successes include . . .
Healthy Living Centre programme
Church Street Neighbourhood has supported the management of this programme, which has run for the past five years through local voluntary organisations (Fourth Feathers, London Tigers, Age Concern, Westminster Advocacy Service for Senior Residents, and Marylebone Bangladesh Society). It has delivered a wide range of health initiatives for local people. The programme ended November 2008.
Health training for local workers (Health Trainers programme)
The Neighbourhood Management worked alongside Westminster NHS to deliver training sessions to front-line workers that covered a range of topics, including drugs; social care; and nutritional and sexual health. Forty frontline officers took part in the training and feedback was positive.
Health signposting resource
We worked with the Primary Care Trust to produce a ‘pocket book' with a description of and contact details for Westminster health services. This was for use by voluntary organisations and local workers.
