Abandoned cars
Unsightly rows of abandoned cars on estates and streets, such as Capland Street and under the Samford Street sheds, have been removed and are no longer allowed to build up.

New wooden doors have replaced the noisy roller shutters that were keeping the residents at nearby Morris House awake at night.
Dog fouling
There have been significant decreases in the amount of dog fouling in the neighbourhood. Increased resources from the Council's Animal Patrol contractor and local intelligence have resulted in a number of on-the-spot fines for dog owners. In addition, where the owner lives in social housing, the landlord has warned the owner that repeated offences will result in a ban on keeping pets.
Derry House antisocial behaviour
For several months, residents of the blocks around Derry Hall, known as Church Street Site 2, were being disturbed by groups of young men acting antisocially. 'Pulse' policing was introduced, whereby a patrol of either local Safer Neighbourhoods Police or City Guardians would pass by every half hour. In addition, a CCTV camera was re-sited to view the area and the landlord introduced physical improvements to entrances and exits on the estate. The daily disturbances no longer occur.
